2019 Hotel Trends to Watch For

Look out for these trends in the hospitality industry.

Now that we are solidly into 2019, now is a great time to look at the industry and identify some of the major trends that have started sweeping hotels across the country.  Here are some of the major hotel trends that you should look out for this year.
  • Minimalism and Natural Designs
This year, look out for hotels renovating their interior spaces with minimalist and natural design elements at the forefront.  For instance, you should expect to see clean lines, deeper color pallets, and more plant features popping up in hotels across the country.  This new aesthetic will offer sophistication and hominess, without being too busy or overwhelming aesthetically.
  • Cloud-Based Management Software
Recently, hotels have taken an interest in cloud-based management software.  This type of software offers multiple benefits including streamlining guest requests, improving communication between staff, and increasing staff productivity.  While switching over to cloud-based software might require an initial monetary investment, the increased efficiency of your operations, improved employee satisfaction, and heightened guest experience will more than make up for this investment.
  • Revamped Guest Rewards Programs
In an effort to be more competitive, smaller hotel chains will step up their guest rewards systems.  For instance, these hotels will likely incentivize guests to leave reviews or provide feedback on their stay in exchange for perks like earlier check-in times, discounted rates, and access to special promotions.
  • Green Hotel Design
In recent years, the green trend has been sweeping through the hospitality industry.  2019 sees the continuation of environmentally-friendly attitudes as hotels will start renovating or making upgrades to their properties to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, waste, and so on. These are some of the hotel trends that you should expect to see this year.  Ready to renovate your building this year?  If so, contact Nikki Fox at Parkwest General Contractors at Nikki@ParkwestGC.com.
