Keeping Pests Out of Your Hotel Keeping Pests Out of Your Hotel

Tips to keep your hotel pest-free.

While hotels are quick to respond when pests infiltrate their property, many fail to take preventative measures.  However, there are several things that you can do to keep pests from ever making their way into your hotel.  Here are some of the tips that you should try to keep pests out.

  • Seal Off Points of Entry

It's important to inspect your property for potential points of entry.  You should look low for the pests that crawl, and look high for pests that climb.  If you notice potential points of entry, then make sure you seal them up and continue to maintain these seals.

  • Remove Conditions that Invite Pests

There are many conditions around your property that could invite pests.  For instance, thick shrubbery offers rodents a safe place to nest.  Additionally, tall trees that overhang your property can provide an easy way for insects to drop down onto your hotel's roof.  To reduce the chances of pests breaking into your building, clear away thick bushes, trim trees, and keep your greenery well-maintained.

  • Practice Good Sanitation

Keeping dumpsters right up against your building is never a good idea from a pest standpoint.  Another thing you should avoid is letting bags of garbage accumulate by the back door and only taking them out to the dumpster occasionally.  When you keep garbage sitting adjacent to your property, you will attract pests and make them more likely to enter your building.  To avoid this, you should keep trash as far from your building as possible.

These are some of the preventative measures that you can take to avoid a pest infestation in your hotel.  Are you interested in making your property less susceptible to pests?  If so, then contact Nikki Fox at Parkwest General Contractors at Nikki@ParkwestGC.com.  Our dedicated team is eager to assist you with all your building upgrade needs today.
