Recently, the Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park hit some major construction milestones.
In June, the project "topped out," meaning that the highest steel beam was put into place. As of now, the "bowl" of the stadium is in place and supports for the roof canopy are taking shape. According to V.P of Field Operations, Michael Marchesano, the project is now at "52% completion." The stadium is slated for total completion by 2020, and will immediately make a huge impact on the sports world as the host of the Super Bowl in 2022. The finished stadium is also scheduled to host the College Football Playoffs in 2023 and is expected to play a major role in the 2026 World Cup and the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
By the time the stadium is complete, it will be the largest and most expensive football stadium ever built. The 298-acre property will boast a state-of-the-art stadium, as well as a vast surrounding community scheduled to open in phases starting in 2020.
