Nomad Restaurant Is Expanding To Los Angeles

The famous Nomad restaurant and hotel is making its way to Los Angeles.

Chef Daniel Humm and co-owner Will Guidara have made quite a name for themselves in the restaurant world in just a few years. Their teamwork helped to guide New York's 11 Madison Park into three Michelin stars and up to the number 5 spot on the World's Best Restaurants list, which is the highest of any restaurant in the country. Humm and Guidara are expanding their presence even more after their December announcement of their plans for a second Nomad restaurant location in Los Angeles that will open sometime in fall of 2017. The restaurant will be located in the Giannini Place complex at 7th and Olive streets in downtown Los Angeles. The building is an ornate neoclassical structure that was built in 1923 as an office building for A.P. Giannini's Bank of Italy, which eventually became Bank of America. The building was designed by Morgan, Walls & Clements, who are Los Angeles architects who also designed the Wiltern and Mayan theaters. The complex will also be the home of the Los Angeles version of the Nomad Hotel. While there will be a lot of similarities between the Manhattan and Los Angeles restaurants, they will not be identical. The Los Angeles Nomad will be housed in a soaring, vast hall that will include opulent fixtures, a gilded ceiling, and solid wooden columns.
