Learn About the Scheduled Construction Project on San Diego's Museum of Man

The Museum of Man will close its doors for construction in 2019.

The San Diego Museum of Man recently announced that it would close its iconic California Tower to the public for most of 2019 in order to undergo construction. The Balboa Park landmark will undergo a seismic retrofit that is expected to take between seven and ten months to complete. While lengthy, this update is necessary to ensure the structural integrity of the Tower in the event of an earthquake. While this retrofit is taking place, the museum will be offering discounted ticket prices for general admission both online and at the door. Museum representatives assure that many exhibits, including "Cannibals: Myth & Reality" and "PostSecret," will remain open to the public during the retrofit project. The Museum will also maintain its normal operating hours of 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Do you need to retrofit or renovate your building this year? If so, contact the experts at Parkwest General Contractors.
