Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc., unveil the results of "Project: Jetson", an innovation that delivers a voice-activated hotel room.

The Jetsons were America's favorite cartoon family from the distant future (though not so distant anymore as it took place in 2062). The line between science fiction and reality only blurs with time: finding Earth-like planets, video phone calls, and now voice-activated hotel rooms. Your voice is able to control the lights, temperature, and more. They are available today at Aloft Boston Seaport and at Aloft Santa Clara.

The phrase "at the touch of your fingertips" has officially become outdated. The global traveller of today is a hyper-connected individual that wants a level of personalization unlike anything ever seen before. Part of that means being able to control various parts of the hotel room by the sound of their voice. Brian McGuineness, global brand leader of Aloft Hotels has the following to say: "We're thrilled to be the first hotel brand to bring voice activation to our guests in this way, using Siri to control room temperature, lighting, and more during their stay."

When guests arrive, they will open the custom Aloft app on their in-room iPad to control various aspects of their room. A personalized welcome screen awaits them and will advise guests on how to set up their room and how to use their voice by simply saying, "Hey Siri." The iPads also offer an easy-to-follow tutorial on how to use the voice-activation to guide guests through the setup process and answer any questions they may have.
